 NO LECTIONARY TEXT STUDY on Tuesday, August 4.   

 BREAD FOR THE WORLD WEEKEND will be Saturday and Sunday, August 8 & 9.  Bring a loaf of your favorite bread to share...nut breads, fruit breads, muffins, bread machine loaves, real homemade bread…any kind goes.  We will have bread knives and cutting boards available.  Tasting and “purchasing” fellowship will follow worship.  Offering letters will also be available to encourage our Congressmen to rework US foreign assistance to make it more effective in reducing poverty.  All monies donated for ‘take home’ bread will go to World Hunger.

 Watch the newsletter and bulletin announcements for details about the LIFE Community Meal project which will start Tuesday, September 22.  Be thinking how you can participate in this LIFE project – cooking meals, serving meals, clean up, greeters, dessert or salad donations, monetary support.  This weekly project will feed hungry people right here in the Upper Sandusky area. 

 OUTREACH COMMITTEE will meet on Monday, August 3 at 5:30 PM.

 WORSHIP & MUSIC COMMITTEE will meet on Tuesday, August 4 at 5:30 PM.

 LIFE PARTY AT THE POND will be next Sunday, August 9 starting at 2 PM at 11643 Twp. Rd. 49.  Bring your swimsuits, fishing poles (if cold), board games, lawn chairs, snacks…whatever you need for a fun, relaxing afternoon with friends.  Hot dogs and drinks will be provided.

 LUTHERAN MEN IN MISSION Golf Outing will be Sunday, Sept. 20 starting with registration at 1:30 PM.  Sponsor Registration form is posted on bulletin board for individuals, standard hole and event sponsors.  Steak Dinner Fellowship starts at 5:30 PM for non-golfers.  Anyone interested in forming a team??

           

LUTHERANS IN FAITH FOR EVERYONE ANNOUNCEMENTS

 WELCOME to Bishop Marcus Lohrmann.  We are glad to have you with us for yet another milestone for Lutherans In Faith for Everyone.  Loose offerings this morning will be given to the Northwestern Ohio Synod Seminarian Fund to support students who are pursuing their education to become leaders for Christ’s church at work in the world.

 LIFE Board meets Monday night from 6:30 – 8:00 PM in the annex at St. Paul.

 WyandotCARES Annual Dinner meeting will be Tuesday, August 4 at Sycamore UMC.  Reservations for meals need to be given to Brenda Rothlisberger ASAP.

 ANYONE INTERESTED in ordering the Lutheran Study Bible can call Rita at First (419-294-3544) and she will add you to the list.  The cost is $18.75 if the order is for 10 or more.  Sample copy is available at the First Lutheran office.

 REMINDER:  If you are visiting a different LIFE congregation, your offering will be forwarded to your home congregation if in your envelope or indicated on your check.

 Be a website booster: Join other members of the LIFE congregations in being a website booster. A website booster is someone who contributes a monetary donation to the setup and ongoing upkeep of the new LIFE website. We'd like to have the website up and running in August. The website will have a calendar, announcements, readings, discussion groups, etc. There is an initial setup cost ($200) and then a monthly fee of $49.95. If you are interested in supporting this multi-media ministry, please fill out the Website Booster envelope, available at each church. Members of our LIFE congregations appreciate your support in providing another avenue for getting the word of Jesus Christ to God's church. PARTY AT THE POND (11643 Twp. Rd. 49) will be next Sunday, August 9 starting at 2 PM.  Bring your lawn chairs, swimsuits, fishing poles (worms or artificial bait only) if it’s too cold to swim for “catch & release”, board or card games, and a snack.  Hot dogs and drinks will be furnished as will plates and plasticware. No, you cannot fry Mr. Gill or Mr. Bass for your supper!  Pr. Joe has agreed to bring his guitar and lead us in some very cool songs.  Come join the fun and fellowship and an afternoon of relaxing with old and new friends.  Everyone of all ages is welcome!!

 WOMEN OF THE CHURCH’s annual summer potluck picnic is Thursday, August 13 at 6:15 PM at the home of Gerald and Gladys Von Stein.  All women and their spouses are invited to come enjoy an evening of food and fellowship.  Table service and drinks will be provided.

 OUR KITCHEN SUPPLIES are running pretty low.  Especially in need are paper towels, 8 oz. cups, small plates, and aluminum foil.  Please put your donations in the kitchen.  Thanks for all you do!

 150 volunteers of all ages are needed to help pack the 10,000 food kits for the Thrivent Kids Against Hunger project at the Crawford County Fairgrounds Show Arena today.  Registration starts at 2:30 PM with packing from 3-5 PM.  The Four-County Chapter is responsible for $2,800, the cost of sending each kits.   A basket for your monetary donations is at the crosswalk to help cover the $2,800 cost of sending the kits.

 FAIRHAVEN COMMUNITY LIFE COMMUNION will be Monday, August 3 at 1 PM in the Chapel.

 WYANDOT CO. NURSING & REHAB CENTER COMMUNION will be this Wednesday, August 5.

 NORTH SALEM LUTHERAN CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS

 WELCA SEWING will be TUESDAY, AUGUST 4 beginning at 8:30 AM.  Knotters are needed; bring your own scissors.

 Wednesday, August 5 – North Salem Church Council will meet after the interview at North Salem.

 Sunday, August 9 – LIFE Party at C R Photos Pond starting at 2 PM.  See LIFE announcement for more details.

 HOSPITAL VISITS – If you know if someone is in the hospital please let pastor know.  Hospitals no longer give out patient names to ministers.

 FAMILY FUN NIGHT is going to be Sunday, August 16 from 4:30 - ?.  More details to come.  We will be collecting donations for a gift card for Pastor Joe and Sandi as a welcome from North Salem to be given to them at this event.

 DON’T FORGET ITEMS needed for LWR Kits.  Watch garage sales and school shopping sales for bargains.  Assembly will take place in late September, early October.
