This banner is made of purple felt for the Advent Season.  Purple symbolizes humility and penitence.  It is in a spirit of humility that we remember the coming of the Son of God who frees us from sin and its consequences and await his return at the end of time.  Purple is also the color of royalty, a fitting color as we await the coming King.  The candle symbolizes Christ, the Light of the World, is white for purity on two shades of pink, suggesting joy,  for the background color.  It is outlined in gold metallic braid with gold cording around the flame.  The banner is finished with gold fringe on the bottom.
