Confirmation Banner
Cross and Crook Banner
This banner is made on white upholstery material. The color white originates
in undiminished light and therefor implies the eternal presence of God.
It also symbolizes joy, glory, and celebration.
One of the most familiar symbols of the Holy Spirit is the dove (which
is made of a white and silver metallic material). Just as the bright
sun (made of a gold metallic material) nourishes the faith of the believer.
The Lord, who is the Good Shepherd (the crook, made of a bronze metallic
material), promises to care for his children. He offers forgiveness
(symbolized by the cross which is a part of the crook) and life eternal
to all believers including the confirmed.
The leaf (made of green felt) is attached to the Cross-Crook and is
rooted in the base of the staff.
The lettering “Lord Be In Our Life” is made of a black metallic material.
The banner is finished with gold fringe.
This banner was made by the confirmation class at Bible School.
The confirmands are: Beth Barnes, Matthew Gamber, Peter Gottfried,
Jason Kraus and Carey Yirga. They were confirmed June 14, 1992.
This banner can also be used for Pentecost and Baptism.
