This banner is  made from one of Bethany's old black paraments.  Their first paraments were made of velvet.  

The first chapter in the Bible tells about the creation of the world and everything in it, including human beings.  This banner is taken from Geneses 1:1-5. Verse one says "In the beginning God!".  The sun if made from a metallic gold material.  The gold cording forms the rays of sun streaming down to the water which is made of a blue metallic material.  White, blue, gold and  dark blue clouds form around the sun as the first day is formed.  The banner is finished with the old black fringe from the alter cloth.  This banner was made in March of 1997.
