This banner is made of white felt for the Easter Season, the color of joy and purity--joy in our risen Lord and in the newness of life He brings.  The empty Latin cross, suggesting to us that Christ is risen, is made of brown felt.  The rising sun with the Chi (X) Rho (P), the first two letters of the Greek word for Christ, in the center, symbolizes that the risen Christ is like the rising sun--He is the Light of the World and also suggests the idea of the Sun of Righteousness used in the Old Testament--is made from gold felt and ourlined with large gold cording.  The Chi Rho is made of purple felt.  The rays, symbolizing the Light of Christ going out to the whole world, are of orange and gold felt outlined in small gold cording.  The banner is finished with gold fringe.
