This banner for the summer season is made of green felt symbolizing life and growth.  It celebrates all of God's creation from the first things created--earth and sea--to growing plants, to sun, moon, and stars, to fish and birds, animals and finally to the crowning act of creation, that of man and woman.  It was only at this point that God pronounced His creation "very good."
The gold and orange felt sun can also symbolize Christ, the Son of God, who brings new life and makes us a new creation in Him.
As we look at this banner, may we be inspired to new heights of praise and gratitude for the joys and beauty of God's creation and to a renewed sense of responsibility as caretakers of it.
