This banner is made on purple felt for the Lenton season, the color of mourning expressing penitence for sin.  The Lamb is standing, no longer wounded, but with the banner of victory over sin and death, suggesting the victorious nature of His sacrifice.  The Lamb is made of a lambswool material (used in coat lining, etc.)  The banner, the symbol of rejoicing and victory, the staff in the form of a cross, and three-rayed nimbus distinguishing the Lamb as a member of the Trinity and also symbolizing the deity of Christ, are made of gold, red, and white felt.  The banner is finished with gold fringe.
