Trinity
The Word

This banner is made on green velvet, one of Bethany's first green altar cloths.  Green suggests the color of life, symbolizing Christian growth during this season after pentecost.
The background Latin cross is made of a honey comb metallic material.
The tablets of stone are made of gray felt on a black metallic material.  The numbers are also of the same black metallic material.  God gave Moses two stone tablets engraved with the Ten Commandments.  They are still the basic laws of morality and behavior among civilized people everywhere. (Exodus 20:1-17; Deuteronomy 5:1-21)
In ancient times God's word was put down on scrolls.  Some of these scrolls are still being found today.  The scroll is made of white felt.  The handles are made of wood and black and gold cording suggest words on the scroll.
The Bible is really 66 books in one.  It took 1500 years to complete and is divided into two main parts, the Old Testament and the New Testament.  The Old Testament covers all the period before Christ (B.C.) from creation to about 400 B.C.  The New Testament covers the times of Christ and the Apostles (A.D.) and on in prophecy until the end of the world.  Thus we see the Bible covers all history, in fact or in prophecy, from eternity to eternity.  At the center is Jesus, God and Man, in whom time and eternity and earth and heaven meet.
The Bible is made of black felt for the cover, white felt for the pages, black and gold cording suggesting words and gold cording suggesting the edges of the pages.  A red metallic material makes the book mark.  The banner is finished with gold fringe.
