Ohio Society War of 1812



Objectives are the collection and preservation of rolls, books, and other documents relating to the War of 1812; the encouragement of research and the preservation of historical data, including memorials to patriots of that era in our national history; caring for the graves of veterans of the War of 1812; the cherishing, maintenance and extension of the institutions of American freedom; the fostering of true patriotism - love of country.

This is a name index to the Muster Rolls of the Pennsylvania Volunteers in the War of 1812 - 1814 published by the Clearfield Company, Inc. published in 1994. It is also the index to the muster rolls in the Pennsylvania Archives, Series 2, Volume XII published in 1890. 191 pages.

This is a transcription from a manuscript by William Kennedy Beall, late assistant quartermaster to General James Taylor who in turn was under the command of Brigadier General William Hull - the leader of the American expedition from Kentucky to confront the British forces in, and around, the western basin of Lake Erie. It is a record of his capture by the British near Fort Malden and his internment from July 5, 1812 to August 4, 1812. 65 pages.

Diary of Benjamin F. Palmer who was captured from the privateer Rolla on December 10, 1813 and his imprisonment at the British prisoner of war internment camps at Bermuda,  Halifax and Dartmoor Prison in England.  274 pages.
