Wyandot County has a rich history starting all the way back to the cave of ancient man where an archeologist from Kent State has been conducting a dig. |

The Wyandot Indians called this area home. They fought here and burned Colonel Crawford, at the stake here to avenge the massacre of the peaceful Moravian Indians . |

| The Wyandots were converted to Christianity by John Stewart near the location of the first Methodist Mission in the United States | |
| The U.S. Government also built a mill for the Indians to grind their grain. | |
